He thrives in a calm, patient environment and is best suited to an experienced dog owner who’s willing to invest the time and love needed to help him truly blossom. He hasn’t had experience with cats or children, so a cat- and kid-free home may be best.

Gets along with everyone – people, dogs, cats. August will be perfect as a second dog in the family, especially if that dog is confident but calm and respectful of August.

August is a timid dog who gets along with everyone – people, dogs, cats. August will be perfect as a second dog in the family, especially if that dog is confident but calm and respectful of August.

August would be happy to snuggle with children, but due to his vulnerability after the past trauma we are looking for very careful and respectful children.

August needs a very calm house.
This boy is moderately active, and he loves walks and playing in his fenced backyard. Right now August walks 3 times a day with his foster mom.
 
Ideal family:
We are looking for a VERY SPECIAL FAMILY for August:
– sensitive, kind and gentle. A family who is able to sense August’s fears and help him get over it.
– on the path to complete recovery, traumatized dogs are haunted by the memory of pain. Time and love will heal all wounds.
– financially stable as August may need veterinary consultations in the future.
